The Havana Sugar Kings were a successful minor league baseball team (1946-1960) in Havana, Cuba, most famous for winning the Triple-A World Series in 1959. After the Cuban Revolution, political tensions forced the team to relocate to Jersey City, New Jersey, during the 1960 season. Initially known as the "Havana Cubans," the team was renamed the Sugar Kings in 1954 and played in the International League as a Cincinnati Reds affiliate.
